The Exhibition and Study Centre is based in the grounds of the former Memorial Hospital in Sheep Street, which is to the North West of Cirencester off Tetbury Road. The Air Raid Shelter which houses a section of the exhibition is in the car park to the rear of the main building.
Access from the Bypass is at the Leisure Centre roundabout following the signs to the Town Centre. Bear left at the “Waitrose” mini-roundabout then keeping in the right hand lane, bear right into Sheep Street in front of the “Malbourough Arms” public house.
Access to the the shelter is from the Sheep Street car park which surrounds the Old Memorial Hospital building, or via the pedestrian gate between Cripps Road at the rear of the Tesco Metro store, and the Sheep Street car park. Cripps Road is the entrance way to Tesco’s car park and the Brewery Car Park and Arts Centre from Ashcroft Road.
The Home Front and Civilian Service sections of the Exhibition along with the office are housed in the Old Hospital Cottages in Sheep Street adjacent to the front of the main Hospital building. Access is from Sheep Street close to the exit from the Sheep Street Car Park.
The exhibition is open to the public every Saturday from the 1st week in May to the 1st Saturday in October (inclusive) 10.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. other times by arrangement. (Contact can be made via the information on this web site)
